The Lift Operations Department Offices and Lift Operations locker room are in the Operations/Events Building located in the upper village area, adjacent to the Alder parking lot.
Job Relationships:
o Reports to:
Lift Managers, Supervisors, and Operator.

None o Interrelationships:
Works closely and communicates effectively with all Lift Operations department employees, Ski School, Patrol, Guests, and other mountain personnel.
Job Specifications:
o Minimum two years of High school, trade school or equivalent.
o One year's experience in working with the public/guest relations.
o Skill in operating basic machinery.
o Ability to provide accurate information and maintain a good attitude during stressful situations.
o Ability to speak clearly and communicate thoroughly with customers and co-workers.
o Willing to work overtime, holidays, night skiing shifts and weekends as requested by the Manager.
o Skiing/Snowboarding skills are required for some positions.
o Must be at least 18 years of age to operate equipment.
General Duties:
The Lift Attendant's primary duties include ensuring that all guests have a valid lift ticket, assisting properly ticketed guests in loading/unloading to/from chair lifts while maintaining safe conditions in and around lift terminals, setting up and taking down corrals, and ensuring positive guest relations with each rider.
Specific Duties:
o Checks each guest for proper ticket/season pass by use of ticket scanner.
Check every ticket/pass every time.
o Loads/unloads passengers to/from chair lift in a safe and efficient manner.
o Builds corrals using diagrams according to predicted skier visits and tears corrals down each evening as directed.
o Directs corral traffic as needed.
o Always keeps corral and terminal area clean and orderly promoting safety procedures.
o Performs snow maintenance on ramps, terminal area, corral, and other areas as needed.
o Assists in daily lift inspections.
o Promotes positive guest relations with riders and co-workers.
o Serves as alternate Lift Operator as needed.
o Gains thorough understanding of all aspects of Whitefish Mountain Resort to function as an information source for guests.
o Asks questions of supervisor and/or co-workers for clarification of procedures or knowledge.
o Meets company's requirements for appearance, attendance, and punctuality.
o Required to be in uniform and name tag daily.
Physical Demands:
o Able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
o Able to work while standing for extended periods of time up to 8 hrs.
o Able to engage in repetitive body motion involving upper body torque during the loading of guests in chairs and shoveling snow at job site.
o Ability to work under varying weather conditions, often extreme in nature.
Safety & Wellness:
o Support and actively promote the success of the Winter Sports, Inc Health & Safety Process including participation in ongoing programs.
o Follow and comply with OSHA standards as defined by company policy and procedures.
o Report any injury and/or unsafe working conditions to the operator, supervisor, or manager ASAP.
All team members must be on constant alert for any unsafe conditions and work behaviors.
This will involve, but not be limited to, periodic inspections of work and public areas.
Follow up notification will be done to correct the condition or practice at the earliest possible opportunity.
