Paint Department Lead
Whitefish, MT Whitefish, MT Full-time Full-time $17 - $25 an hour $17 - $25 an hour Position Summary The primary responsibilities of the Paint Department Lead position are to maintain outstanding customer service, generate sales, merchandise product, and support the store management team with a specific focus on the Paint Department.
Pay is DOE Paint Department Responsibilities The responsibilities for this position include:
Ability to mix paint using provided equipment including manual and auto-tinters and paint mixing software.
Ensure that all custom-mixed product is correct and maintain quality control within the department to minimize mis-mixed product.
Dedication to maintain consistent and accurate customer files.
Have working knowledge of all paint lines carried within the store, including but not limited to Sikkens Proluxe, Royal, Clark & Kensington, Valspar, Benjamin Moore and Amy Howard at Home.
Having working knowledge of all sundries categories including, interior & exterior paint, primers, applicators, interior & exterior wood finishes, adhesives, surface preparation, and patch & repair.
Actively engage and question customers to assist with their Color Journey and ensure that every customer gets the right product for every project.
Establish and maintain good working relationships with paint contractors and work to meet their specific needs.
Ensure that the paint department remains in good working order including o equipment preventative maintenance o ordering paint department supplies o maintaining color collateral and chip racks o maintaining all overstock Ensure that the paint department maintains an in-stock position by ordering from non-Ace vendors as needed.
Keeping current on paint technologies and new products with willingness to suggest additions or subtractions to product mix.
Train other employees on paint and products in the department.

Minimum Requirements The minimum requirements for this position include:
Education/Training:
High School diploma or GED, some college preferred.
Possess a vast product knowledge of hardware related products along with a willingness to learn.
Experience:
Sales and marketing experience with retail programs, establishing relationships and working with customers Previous experience in a retail environment either in marketing, sales, or back office.
A commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills, exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multi- task Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business Physical Requirements The minimum physical requirements for this position include:
Must be able to lift 40 pounds frequently to load and unload customer orders.
Ability to stand for an extended period of time Move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and performing all functions as set forth.
