We are seeking a Master''s prepared Registered Nurse, with a major in Nursing or Education, to fill the role of RN Education & Training Specialist.
Registered Nurse must have 2 year''s clinical nursing experience and current CPR Instructor Certification, plus two year''s experience developing and coordinating educational programs
This position works 80 hours/pp, generally Monday through Friday days; however, occasionally works evenings and weekends (weekends could be between 1 and 3 times per year). Schedules and shifts are subject to change based on patient care/training needs, and department/organizational needs.

RN Education and Training Specialist oversees the training and development needs of the employee population. Identifies and prioritizes the learning needs. Plans and develops educational strategies to meet desired outcomes of specific departments as well as for strategic objectives. Oversees and monitors the content and appropriateness of general and departmental orientation process.
Position Responsibilities
I.Responsible for facilitating a process to identify organizational learning and development needs. Develops education plan consistent with strategic plan and organizational goals.
(A)Identifies learning needs of staff. Seeks input from employees, supervisors, various organizational committees and administration.
(B)Identifies and facilitates appropriate education delivery utilizing on-site, off-site and online resources.
(C)Facilitates process for evaluation of education plan.
(D)Markets educational offerings in a timely, organized and effective manner.
(E)When available, secures continuing education credits for attendees. Facilitates provision of proof of continuing education credits to employees for their record-keeping.
(F)Produces and publishes monthly calendar detailing educational opportunities.
and/or coordinates employee training which is required by NVH, State and federal standards or regulations.
(A)Oversees the mandatory annual training process. Works with individuals to develop material content. Oversees employee completion and ensures that supervisors are being informed of non-compliance.
(B)Coordinates classes for varied certificate programs including BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP. May instruct classes as qualified. Acts as site coordinator for CPR training, under the direction of the Community Training Center. Responsible to review the updates to the program and to insure that all NVH CPR instructors are compliant with the regulations.
(C)Maintains a library of textbooks, tapes and other materials for employee use. Monitors the checkout and return procedures.
(D)Notifies department heads and the individuals affected when new, update or renewal classes are offered.
(E)Works with department supervisors and senior leaders to develop appropriate staff competencies. Establishes schedule for delivery and completion of competencies, as appropriate.
III.Responsible for oversight and tracking of general and departmental orientation.
(A)Oversees the development and maintenance of comprehensive general, departmental and position-specific orientation checklists.
(B)Develops system for tracking and ensuring completion of orientation in timely manner. Works with department supervisors to ensure completion of orientation by new employees.
(C)Facilitates evaluation of orientation process.
IV.Maintains education records.
(A)Maintains documentation of all education programs including subject, program audience, audio- visual needed, presenter, time, location, attendance and evaluations.
(B)Ensures complete employee education records are maintained in the Learning Management System (LMS). Records will be available for surveyor audits, employee competency verification as well as employee performance evaluations.
V.Establishes, initiates, plans and implements appropriate policies and procedures.
VI.Manages opportunities for performance improvement.
(A)Identifies opportunities for quality improvement.
(B)Works with others to develop a plan of action.
(C) Implements changes and monitors results by submitting timely reports to the Performance Improvement Committee.
VII.Other duties as assigned.

(B)Reports any violation or suspected violation of this Code or other hospital policies or procedures to supervisor, Compliance Officer or through the compliance hotline.
(C)Attends and/or completes mandatory training regarding organizational compliance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRES: Current Montana Registered Nurse License, plus 2 years clinical nursing experience. Current CPR instructor Certification. Two years'' experience developing and coordinating educational programs. Experience working with training equipment and computer programs which enhance training through simulation. Ability to provide effective communication and interpersonal skills.
DESIRE: Masters of Science degree in Nursing or Education.
